Confession #106: Oh Baby! Part 2
So a while back THIS happened 🙂
I know having a baby is normal, but somedays I still wake up and think WHAT IN THE WORLD???
I guess that is normal too.
Regardless, Baby Jake is on his way this November and we couldn’t be more excited as to how God is bringing our plans together.
We have a wonderful midwife who will be coming to Haiti to deliver for me. You can check out her blog HERE. She is a world traveler, baby lover, Jesus follower and I am more than blessed to have her by my side. Our current plan is deliver Jake at Haiti Hospital Appeal, a wonderful organization you should check out. They are doing AMAZING things in Haiti! In addition, my parents will be here which is super comforting. Hunter’s parents will follow.
The teens at Emmaus House are counting down the days and taking good care of me in the meantime. I can’t even begin to count how many times a day they ask me how Jake is doing. They make sure I am eating well, drinking enough, and even sitting correctly (apparently crossing your legs is bad for baby). Almost all the girls have asked to be at the hospital when I go into labor because they want to be one of the first to welcome him into the world. (And, according to Kencia, they all want to hear me scream. Such compassion 🙂 )
And then there is Nalandson and Dalencia who can’t go an hour without taking about Jake, talking to Jake, singing to Jake, and making plans for Jake’s arrival. They are going to be the best big brother/big sister combo ever. Jake is going to be so lucky.
As I mentioned in my first OH BABY post, we know God’s timing is perfect. Financially, having a baby doesn’t make a whole lot of sense in our lives right now, but we trust that God will provide all we need to care properly for Jake as well as our family.
There are three ways we are asking friends and family to help us get started with baby:
1. We have created a baby registry on Amazon. As you can imagine, there aren’t any shopping options for us here Cap Haitien. We don’t need much, especially since we won’t have a nursery. But we do need some help to get started. We will cover all the shipping and customs fees for any purchase made on our registry. Go HERE to check it out. Any support this way is GREATLY appreciated.
2. As I mentioned above, we are blessed to have a midwife traveling to assist us. We do, however, need to cover her MFI flight and stay. If this is something you can help us with, please email us privately at firstname.lastname@example.org.
3. We need tons of prayers: For a continued healthy pregnancy, for a safe deliver and healthy baby boy, for financial blessings and stability as we expand our family, and for the safe travel of all our family later this year.
Daily we are getting more excited for Baby Jake to arrive. I think he is going to be the perfect addition to our lives!
