Confession #20: God Will Never Forget the Needy

Sometimes Hunter (my hubby) takes a picture that amazes me. Truly takes my breath away.

This is one of those pictures.

I wasn’t there when Hunter took this picture, but I can’t tell you how often I have stared at this man- looking into his closed eyes, wondering about his life, and wishing I could just sit with him and hold his hand.

So often when I look at this picture I am reminded of Psalm 9: 18 “But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.”

According to Hunter this man was blind. Hunter met him in a church building during a food distribution gathering one afternoon. They never spoke. Never shook hands. But Hunter did capture this photo on his way to gather his plate of food. Although I’m not quite sure if that is a smile forming on his face, I’d like to this it is. A smile because God is taking care of his son, feeding him because he was not forgotten, because he was in need.
